Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy in Laval

What is pelvic floor physiotherapy?

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a specialized branch of physiotherapy that focuses on the muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues at the bottom of your pelvis often referred to as your pelvic floor. These muscles help support your pelvic organs (bladder, rectum, uterus) and play a key role in your bladder, bowel and sexual health.

When these muscles aren't working the way they should, you may start to notice symptoms like leaking, pressure, pain, or a general feeling that “something is off".

Pelvic floor physiotherapy helps you understand what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what you can do to improve it.

A COLLABORATIVE EXPERIENCE

What to expect during your pelvic floor physiotherapy session

Your first visit
  • We begin by talking about your symptoms and daily experiences. You share what’s been going on, what’s getting in the way, and what you’d like to improve. It’s a relaxed conversation that helps us get a clear picture of your needs.

  • Next, we might look at how your body moves with a strength and movement assessment. If appropriate to your situation, we’ll offer an internal pelvic floor exam and explain the process ahead of time. This exam is optional and done with your consent.

  • You leave with a personalized plan that fits your lifestyle and your goals. This can include practical exercises, clear strategies, and guidance that fits into your everyday life. You’ll know what to focus on and why it matters.

Follow-up visits

During each follow-up, we check in to see what’s improving and what still feels challenging. We reassess as needed, then adjust your exercises and strategies so your plan keeps moving with you. You leave with clear next steps and a sense of steady progress.

SEE WHAT CLIENTS SAY

I cannot thank you enough for all of the support in helping me prepare for the c-section and all of the symptoms/adjustments required to remain active over the last 9+ months!

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

Yara's support and expertise made such a difference during a time that can feel quite overwhelming. Thanks to her, I’m rebuilding my core strength and returning to exercise with much more confidence. Honestly, I wish I had worked with her during pregnancy, too. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for expert, compassionate care.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

My last run before mud girl was 8km! I’m really amazed with this! I appreciate it so much that I can run to my car because it’s raining, chase the kids around and play tennis with my daughter. So many things that I thought I would never get to do without unfortunate leaks. It’s the perfect reason to just jump of excitement!

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

I can't recommend Yara's services highly enough - both for pregnancy and postpartum care. Her exercises and the modifications she made to my training plan allowed me to maintain a good level of activity at the gym and be more comfortable carrying out my tasks at work. Thank you Yara!

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

This was one of the best investments I have ever made for my health and well-being. Yara Jabre is a phenomenal physiotherapist. She helped me achieve in a few sessions what years of urologist appointments and medication never could. I am very grateful for the attention I received.
